A walk around the reserve today included seeing the new calf (born today), a couple of jays burying acorns in the paddock, and this female pheasant by the willows.

  1. Spotted in Oxford last week -a Chillingham Bull – white cattle breed – presented to the Oxford University Museum of Natural History by the Earl of Tankerville in 1875.
I remember first going to see the Chillingham herd up in Northumberland back in the last century while on holiday – never thought I’d one day be seeing White Cattle in the fields alongside the footpath which was my then jogging route.
