Hello everyone
As you know we the Fairfield Association rely heavily on good-hearted volunteers such as yourself to keep the wheels of the FA charabanc turning. There are two requests below and it would be fantastic if you could consider helping out with either. The third request is a shot in the dark!
Green Fair
Green Fair – in recent years the sale of the FA calendar has been one of our more significant sources of income. We sell more calendars at our stall at the Green Fair than at any other single venue and if you could help run this stall we’d be very grateful. The Green Fair is at St Thomas’ Church on Saturday 21 November 2026.
Even if you can just spare an hour it would mean that people can take a break and don’t have to be there all day. If you can offer some time on that Saturday between the hours of 10am and 4pm (to include set-up and take-down) then please email Hilary at and let her know when you could manage.
Educational visits
We have now begun a programme of regular school visits to the orchard on Mondays. Schools always bring enough staff to make these sessions safe but an extra hand would always be helpful. You would never be left alone with the children and no DBS check is required.
If you could offer a couple of hours on any of the dates below then that would make the visitor’s experience even better! You would be needed between 10am and midday, perhaps arriving fifteen minutes early to help set up. Please email Andrew at with the dates that you would be able to attend.
2026
- Monday 9 November – Morecambe Bay Year 1
- Monday 16 November – Cathedral Year 6
- Monday 23 November – Cathedral Year 2
2027
- Monday 11 January – Morecambe Bay Year 1
- Monday 18 January – Cathedral Year 6
- Monday 25 January – Cathedral Year 2
Shot in the dark (missing minutes)
We have been going to great lengths to assemble an archive of meeting minutes since the Association’s inception in 1996. We have just about everything but can’t locate the minutes of the 2004 AGM. Does anyone have these squirrelled away that we could possibly get a copy of them?
Many thanks for your continued support – we couldn’t do it without you!
Kind regards,
Andrew.
