December Snipe Flush Count

On Monday 2 December we carried out the second Snipe survey of the winter season.

The fields were very wet after the recent rain, and we soon put up 1 Common Snipe in Hay Meadow, with 2 Jack Snipe, then 1 Common Snipe from Upper Sowerholme.

Around School Pond we recorded 13 Common Snipe, then in Big Meadow it was unusually quiet, and we only recorded 5 Common Snipe and 3 Jack Snipe. 

So, in total, 20 Common Snipe and 5 Jack Snipe.
