Freeeman’s Wood Volunteer Session

June 29 @ 11:00 AM 1:00 PM

The Friends of Freeman’s Wood are holding a volunteer session in the central meadow. We need lots of volunteers as we have two big jobs to do.

1. We need to inspect and weed around the tree saplings we planted in January. These have held up remarkably well through the recent drought conditions but they do now need a bit of extra TLC. If you have work gloves, please bring them, but if not we have a stock.

2. We have been given several hundred wild flower plugs which need to go into the ground quickly. If you can bring a trowel and hand fork that will be useful.

Both of these jobs involve working in grassland in which deer roam. There is s risk of catching a tick. We advise volunteers to wear trousers and shirts which cover legs and arms even on a hot day.

Full instruction given for both jobs.

Any queries or need for directions to the site, please email or post a comment below.

Many thanks
