Volunteers for Bird Feeding Station

We plan to set up the bird feeding station in Flora Field again this winter. To do this we need a team of volunteers, one for each day, plus some extras in reserve.

Feeding table in Flora Field with three reed bunting

So what’s involved?

You would need to:

  • get to the double gates at the bottom of the Pony Wood Path as early as you can manage
  • climb over the fence (The fence is 1m high with solid wooden rails 4cm wide – see image below.)
  • locate the bin a few yards up the field
  • use the scraper to clean the table and spray with disinfectant
  • scatter seed thinly on the table and the surrounding area
  • hurry home or hang round to see what comes

Where is the feeding table?

WhatsApp group

We have a supportive WhatsApp group and more detailed instructions on quantities etc. As the weather gets colder the birds get hungrier!
