Season’s meeting
Our traditional pre-Christmas gathering will commence at 7.30pm this Monday 9th December at 61 Regent Street. Thanks (as always) to our generous hosts, we will be paying even less attention to business than usual, and instead focusing on the pleasures of the season in the form of mince pies, mulled wine, and good company.
In a bid to cut down on repetitive strain injury and save precious cyberspace resources, I’m pleased to say that we managed to reduce the noteworthy aspects of our last meeting to a single page, which can be viewed (with no scrolling necessary) here.

November 2019
A meeting and a Sunday session
Sadly someone went on the rampage at the Triangle last week and destroyed most of the slate labels, dented the double doors, and damaged two of the fruit trees. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, but if you notice anything unusual going on then please let us know.
We will be having a work session next Sunday 10th November, starting at 1.30pm. Autumn leaf gathering will commence, and we will also do some work on hacking back the vegetation on the buttress shelf.
Our next meeting is on Monday 4th November at 7.30 at 61 Regent Street. The minutes of the last one are almost certainly here.

September 2019
Sunday sessions
There will be a volunteer session this Sunday 8th September at 2.00pm. Tasks include prep and painting to pergola fascias, staining pergola rafters, connecting up soaker hose to the irrigation distribution pipework, and general garden maintenance.
In an attempt to prioritise organisation over the vagaries of the weather, we will also be running regular scheduled sessions on the second Sunday of the month in October, November and December, with the start time shifting to 1.30pm as the afternoons get shorter.

Next meeting
Thanks to everyone who came along to our Celebrating the Canal pop-up art exhibition, especially if you took something away with you! Perhaps because of the exceptional bank holiday weather and/or the prevailing economic uncertainty, this event was a bit quieter than our previous exhibitions, but the artists felt it was worthwhile and the workshop is looking better than ever.
Time has crept up on us and our next meeting is 7.30pm tomorrow, Monday 2nd September at 61 Regent Street. The minutes of our last meeting are here.

August 2019
Fair result, art exhibition, Sunday session
Thanks to aftersales of burgers, DVDs and books, it has taken a while to get there, but we can now announce that the final tally for our Summer Fair was a fabulous (and record breaking) £974!
Huge thanks again to everyone that made it happen, and everyone that came along and had fun in the sun. The amount of effort that goes in to ensure the remarkably smooth running of this event should not be underestimated.

Our next event is our third pop-up art exhibition, this time featuring three artists with a theme of Celebrating the Canal, to coincide with the Lancaster Canal bicentenary. This will be held in three weeks’ time over the bank holiday weekend, and the poster (below – full size version available on request) has certainly got us excited.
Before then we need to get the workshop looking spruce and even emptier than it was for the Fair, so we will be having a volunteer session this Sunday 4th August at 10.30am to tidy up and shift stuff out. If anyone can accommodate four stacks of chairs somewhere local for a few weeks, please do get in touch.

Triangle Fair BBQ, surplus sale
Huge thanks to everyone that helped make the Fair a great success yesterday, and special thanks to whoever brought the sunshine along right on time at 11am – it really helped!
We are working hard on bringing you an announcement of the amount raised, but in the meantime we can offer some surplus foodstuffs at cost prices:
- Packs of four buns, good for a few days yet, at 50p each.
- Quality fresh beef burgers, suitable for home freezing, £2.50 for a two-pack.
- Quality frozen ‘no bull’ vegan burgers, £1 for a two-pack (bought at half-price).

Summer Fair on Saturday!
A reminder that our Summer Fair is this Saturday, 12 noon til 4pm, and will be as awesome as it always is.
We’ll be setting up from 9am, and there will be a lots of gazebos to erect for anyone who has fond memories of The Krypton Factor, and quite a number of more mindful tasks also.
We would be delighted to take deliveries of cakes & savouries, books & DVDs, plants, tombola nicknacks, sunshine etc, any time from 11am.

Sunday session
We will be having a volunteer session this Sunday 9th June, starting at 1pm. We have some smart new storage for the workshop requiring final assembly, and more clearing and tidying to do in preparation for our summer events. There is also work to do outside to keep the rampant vegetation under control, plus a bit of sitting around enjoying the sunshine.

Two events, and a meeting
We have not one, but two events on the Triangle in the next few weeks.
First up, the Canal & River Trust are borrowing the Triangle on Sunday 23rd June for a Lancaster Canal Bicentenary celebration event. Details have yet to be finalised but it is expected that this will run from late morning to mid afternoon, and will feature information stalls, refreshments, activities for children, plus canoeing and angling taster sessions.
On Saturday 6th July we will be holding the Triangle Summer Fair, with all the usual stalls including BBQ, cakes & drinks, tombola, plants, books & DVDs. As usual donations of cake, tombola prizes, plants, books etc are very welcome. It is helpful to have tombola prizes in advance, and to let us know if you are planning to bring cake/plants/books etc on the day – see contact page.
Donations of time to help set up and pack away, run stalls and children’s games are also encouraged – again let us know if you are able to help.
We will be having a meeting tomorrow (Monday 3rd June) evening at 7.30pm, which will mostly focus on event planning. The minutes of our last meeting have quietly moored themselves here.

February 2019
New year’s meeting
Yes, it is indeed February already, but winter is a good time to rest up and put plans in place for the warmer parts of the year.
We can therefore announce that the date of our Spring Fair is Saturday 18th May. Please mark this on your calendar or tap it into your ‘device’ at your earliest convenience.*
*This is just a polite way of saying right now – the rest of this news item will still be here when you get back.
We are also hoping to host a canal-themed art exhibition later in the year, to mark the bicentenary of the Lancaster Canal. More details will follow when we have them.
Our next meeting is on Monday 4th February at 7.30pm. The rather brief minutes of our pre-Christmas knees-up can be enjoyed here.
There are some gardening tasks to achieve before the spring, so we will hope to convene the first work party of the year in the near future.
