These plants are growing alongside the Pads footpath. Can anyone help in identifying?
As well as these we have bluebell, cow parsley, cowslip, ransoms, shepherds purse, primrose and cuckoo flower currently in bloom in and around the Orchard.

I think you are right Tony, the RHS web site refers to
‘In spring, fertile light brown stems, 20-50cm (10-20in) tall, appear with a cone-like spore producing structure at the end of the stems.’
And there are comfirming photos on the web.
The RHS does not like them at all!
